๐ต Chiptune cover of Yumi Tanimura - Ganbare Broken Heart
It really feels like the western world is missing out on her music - one of my top artists this year ๐
๐ต Chiptune cover of ICON by TWICE
(I should really turn off the cursor highlighting when recording these lol)
Thereโs a full version on YouTube btw! www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYjQ...
I was today years old when I found out how to do the smooth scrolling thing on FL Studio???
This song is as relevant now as it was 15 years ago ๐ฉ (chiptune cover of Muse's MK Ultra)
A couple years ago I made an ironic drum and bass breakdown in the middle of an ironic trap beat song about making it rain but you've only got spare change :')
Sometimes Iโm not creative for a couple of weeks at a time, and thatโs okay
I am genuinely unreasonably hyped and excited for this
You ever wake up one morning and realise you justโฆ donโt wanna make chiptune music anymore? ๐ฉ Like, I thought about working on more original chiptune stuff but I would MUCH rather play instruments and sing forever more, to me it feels so much more rewarding on a deep physical level
Daylight saving has really messed me up this year, afternoons this week are all write-offs. I feel so uncomfy any time past like 3pm ๐ฉ
Fictional bands from video games are one of THE coolest things, especially when they sing about in-universe concepts, and get albums released in the real world
Okay, it turns out the YouTube version has EQ and a mastering plugin, but I'd since removed them for this recording, I promise!
This is probably the closest I ever came to making *actual* 8-bit music (called "Ultraviolet", 2018). And it has a sick breakdown section!!
I limited myself to one (ONE!) note per channel, and used exclusively NES VST and the Mario Paint drum soundfont. No EQ or effects ๐
God damnit, Jem and his typical prog BS key-changed up a minor third for the second verse and one semi-tone for the second chorus - makes covering songs rather difficult. Compare this to the original video, it's quite similar but also completely different...! ๐
You make a good point, but sometimes being creative is hard, and even then I have SO many song ideas but I don't know if they should be chiptune-based, or played and sung ๐ญ
Thanks ๐ I'm so glad I could introduce you to them!
3xOsc (built into FL Studio) for the vocal layer, and NES VST for eeeeeverything else! (Drums are various C64 samples collected over the years)
Recently I've been trying to process each instrument less. So mostly no delay/reverb/compression, just clippers. ๐ค
For context, here's the original song, which you should totally listen to. Actually, listen to the whole album please and thank you. ๐ www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHr1...
