I love cats so much. I cannot begin to explain just how much I love cats. The mere existence of cats had me crying in the first couple of minutes, and subsequently most of the way through the rest of the film.
This film also proves my point that golden retrievers (and labs) are the only good kind of dog and the rest are good for NOTHING. They know nothing about personal space, ruin your belongings, and are so emotionally stupid. Not to be confused with men.
I cannot deny itβs really sad and had me in tears towards the end, but I still canβt stand kids acting, and some of the shots feel SO awkward/unnatural to the point where it took me out of the moment several times (not to mention all the freeze frames on their faces throughout)
I quite enjoyed the musical numbers and I'm almost ashamed to admit the last scene with Kronk and Papi made me cry, but overall it felt like there was no sense of direction throughout (and Yzma's not a cat anymore! (...except for that))
So insanely cute, heartwarming, and heartbreaking, basically constant tears streaming down my face from about half-way in until the end π
Nostalgia bias affected my score here. It's really really cheesy and I cringed at times, but kid-me absolutely loved this film and it's exactly as I remember π€£
edit: Just gone to watch the original fake the actual Ray Santilli made in 1995, it's CRAZY how accurately they replicated it for this!
